Father’s Day has become that day that you buy your dad some slippers and move on. I think we have forgotten or just lost interest in just how important a father and specifically male role models are for our children.
For me personally, I owe a lot of the person I am today to my dad. He is one of the most hard-working people I have ever met. He is loyal, fair and kind. He taught me the value of money through his ongoing excel spreadsheets. He raised me to be fiercely independent and incredibly driven. These are things you don’t learn from school; you learn from seeing your parents with these same traits. I was one of the lucky ones. I had a father and several other fantastic male role models that helped me learn how you treat a lady and specifically what kind of partner I wanted.
Thank you, dad! You are one on a million 💕Happy Father’s Day!
The Problems Of An Absent Father
When a dad is not involved with a family it is so important to find other male role models that children can look up to. Someone who has been vital in this is Craig Wilkinson. Craig is a bestselling South African author, award-winning social entrepreneur, sought after inspirational speaker and Dad Coach. He is passionate about equipping men to be great fathers and leaders. This dad coach is on a mission for change and I love it. He works through his Npo Father A Nation to actively fight back against gender-based violence. Want to get on board with Craig and father a nation’s “mission is to inspire and equip men to be nation-builders, fathers and role models? How about taking the pledge and sharing the cause?
